LAWRENCE -- A pickup truck flipped onto its side and two people traveling in a car were injured when the vehicles collided Tuesday morning at Princeton and Lanning avenues, police said.
Dolores Horlowski, 77, of Ewing was driving north on Princeton Avenue, toward the Brunswick Circle, about 9 a.m. when the front of her car hit the passenger's side of the pickup being driven by Charles Long, 38, of Trenton, police said.
Long was attempting to turn left onto Lanning Avenue from the southbound side of Princeton Avenue, police said. A vehicle traveling in one of Princeton Avenue's two northbound lanes stopped to let Long to turn but Horlowski -- who was in the other lane -- either did not see the turning pickup or could not stop in time as it crossed in front of her, police said.
The impact between the vehicles caused the pickup truck to roll over onto its driver's side. Long, who was not hurt, was able to crawl from the wreckage, police said.
Horlowski and her passenger -- whose name was not available -- complained of pain following the crash and were taken by ambulance to Capital Health System at Fuld hospital for treatment, police said.
Both northbound lanes of Princeton Avenue were closed for about an hour while tow truck operators removed both wrecked vehicles. Police said the accident remains under investigation by Officer Thomas Everist.
Firefighters from Slackwood and Lawrence Road fire companies stood by on scene.
