TRENTON -- Fire officials are currently investigating the cause of a blaze that damaged a home in the 800 block of Lamberton Street in South Trenton late Thursday night.
Firefighters, dispatched about 10 p.m., arrived to find flames leaping from a second floor bedroom window.
Told that people might be trapped in the burning home, firefighters began an immediate search of the smoke-filled residence.
Ultimately, no one was found; all the residents were later accounted for and were not hurt, firefighters at the scene said.
Although the flames were contained to the second-floor bedroom and quickly extinguished, the entire house was rendered temporarily uninhabitable by the blaze. The Red Cross was called out to assist the displaced residents.
Responding to the fire were crews from Engines 3, 10, 7 and 1, Ladders 2 and 4, and Rescue 1.
