HAMILTON TWP (MERCER)--On May 7 around 5 pm, a Hamilton residents home was saved by quick response and action by Nottingham Fire Company Firefighters. A house fire was reported to Mercer County Central at 25 Mercer St by the home owner who quickly evacuated the home. On arrival, smoke was showing from the front door and filling the street. Engine 17 went into service, found the bulk of the fire and knocked it down. The fire was contained to the first floor kitchen with no extension to the rest of the building. Engine 17, Tower 17, and Engine 12 along with Nottingham Fire Company Chiefs and Fire Marshall were on scene for over an hour with investigation.
