Freehold Township (Monmouth) Station 16-1 along with East Freehold Fire Dept. (Sta.16-2) and Manalapan Fire Co. (Sta. 26-2) responded to a garage fire at 500 Block of Turtle Hollow Drive at approximately 6:22PM. Firefighters responded quickly and were able to contain the fire to the garage area before it spread to the rest of the home. Upon arrival firefighters encountered fire in the rear of the garage and fire impinging on the ceiling leading to the bedrooms above. A single hose line was stretched and the the flames were quickly knocked down. Inside, firefighters checked for extension and vented the structure for a light smoke condition throughout. The fire is currently under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshall.
