Wood Ridge--On Saturday October 17, 2009 the Wood-Ridge fire dept was dispatched to the corner of Central Avenue and Humboldt street for a working fire. The first arriving companies found heavy fire on the first floor venting out the front windows. With the fire spreading to the second floor a second alarm was transmitted, heavy fire vented out of the roof and the building was evacuated. After the fire was knocked down crews went back into the building to overhaul. Mutual aid towns that assisted were Hasbrouck Heights, East Rutherford, Calstadt and Moonachie.
