Remember the 5 that were killed in Hackensack NJ 20 years ago.

The July 1, 1988, fire collapsed the 60-ton ceiling of the Hackensack Ford dealership, killing Capt. Richard L. Williams, 53, Lt. Richard Reinhagen, 48, and firefighters Stephen H. Ennis, 30, William Krejsa, 51, and Leonard Radumski, 38.

The fire in Hackensack was a bow string truss but be aware of all Truss Roofs, Floors, TGI and other light weight construction.  NJ's Truss Roof Sign Law that went into effect because of this fire. N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.20(a)2.

Make your Fire Official and inspectors aware of faded and missing truss roof signs, many signs are showing their age and need replacement or repairs.
